#2 - Community Nature Mandalas
Class Seven: Creating Mandalas in Community
Download PDF — A Healing Nature Mandala
Materials Needed
- Gather all things from nature
- Flowers and Herbs
- Sticks and Stones
- Seeds and Berries
- Sand and Shells
Instruction Review
- Decide where you are going to create your nature mandala, outside or inside
- If creating on a table, you might consider laying down a piece of cloth or a scarf to create your mandala on
- Think about an intention of your mandala – healing, memory, gratitude, joy…
- Gather your materials
- Start in the center
- As you create, keep the mandala’s intention in the forefront of your mind
- If you have created amulets (See bonus video below) as part of this practice you can place them in the center, along the outside edges or throughout the mandala
- Once your mandala is finished, it is nice to say some words about what you have created and why
- Now the mandala is left to the forces of nature – winds and rains and creatures- to spread the thoughts and intentions into the world
Practicing
If you are practicing alone, this is a wonderful time to share what you have been up to with a few family members or friends. You could invite them to create a Nature Mandala with you. Or you can create one in your neighborhood as a gift to your community – a small roadside mandala. Have fun and enjoy this heart felt practice.
